ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Decatur Energy Storage Project is a proposed 50-MW battery energy storage system (BESS). The Project will utilize approximately 2.8 acres of fenced-in area located on approximately 8.9 acres of private land within Decatur Township, Michigan. The Project Area was selected based on land use, interest from landowners, and proximity to existing electrical grid infrastructure.
The proposed project will connect to the electric grid to help balance energy supply and demand and support electric reliability in Decatur Township and the surrounding area.
